Privacy Policy

This policy explains what WindowStickerVin.com (the “Site”) and the “Window Sticker by VIN” browser extension (the “Extension”) collect, and how that information is used.

The short version

• No account, no sign-in, and no ads.
• We don’t sell, rent, or share your information.
• The VIN you enter is used only to look up that vehicle’s window sticker or build sheet.
• We keep minimal diagnostic logs to keep the service working.

What we collect

The VIN you enter. When you run a lookup, the 17-character VIN is sent to the services that perform it (see “Third-party services” below) and is included in the page URL (e.g. ?vin=…) so the result is shareable and reloadable. A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a person.

Diagnostic and error data. We use Sentry to record errors and basic events (for example, that a lookup ran) so we can keep the Site reliable. These records can include the VIN, your browser type, and your IP address, and are used only for debugging and operating the service.

Network/technical data. Like any website, our hosting and edge network (Cloudflare) process your IP address and request details to deliver pages and to apply basic rate limiting that prevents abuse.

What we do not do

• No user accounts or sign-in.
• No advertising and no advertising or tracking cookies.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information.

The browser extension

The “Window Sticker by VIN” Chrome extension requests no special permissions and collects no data on its own. When you enter a VIN and click the button, it simply opens WindowStickerVin.com with that VIN — after which this policy applies.

Data retention

We don’t maintain a database of your searches. The VIN is processed to return your result; diagnostic logs are retained only as long as needed to operate and debug the service.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
